Thrift stores have been growing in popularity the past 5 years.  There are many reasons to visit thrift stores, and we thought this would be a good time to show why you should show your support to your local store.

They are cheap!

The main reason to visit thrift stores is that you can always find incredible values on products.  A lot of time and effort goes in to checking items to make sure they are worth selling.  Thrift stores are in the volume business, so they are not concerned with maximizing each individual item.  In most cases, they are trying to move as many items as possible.

You can find something very valuable

Since they are concerned with volume, it is possible to find very valuable or old items at relatively inexpensive prices.  You can find incredibly valuable clothing and electronic equipment.  I personally love to stop in stores to see what long-lost item I may find for a low price.

Thrift stores almost always support the local community.

Many thrift stores are tied to a local charity, mission, or nonprofit.  You can always feel good about spending money in a thrift store because in most cases the employees are part of a local mission or the money you spend directly supports many people in your community.

Thrift stores are the epitome of recycling.

Any item purchased at a thrift store keeps you from purchasing something similar as a new item.  This reduces the number of items in landfills.  In many cases, you can get a higher quality item that may need a little love to get back in tip-top shape.

I would always recommend visiting your local stores.  Donating is always a great way to give someone else an opportunity to love some of your items, as well.

Anchor Packaging has partnered with thrift stores since 1962 to make sure they had access to affordable packaging to help their bottom line.
